If you look online, you will find a procedure for resetting a chrome book. We tried using them at our University for a while and we would reset them every time we got a loaner back. I liked the boot up speed and the great battery life, but the limited functionality got me. In the end an IPad serves me much better.
Here's the procedure from the google support page:
---------------------------------------------
Follow these steps to reset your Chromebook to its original factory state:
Click the status area in the lower-right corner, where your account picture appears.
Select Settings and click Show advanced settings at the bottom of the page.
Find the "Powerwash" section and click Reset.
In the dialogue box that opens, select Restart.
You can also reset your Chromebook from the sign-in screen by holding down the keys Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R and clicking Restart.
If you have a Chromebook Pixel, Samsung Chromebook, or Acer C7 Chromebook, press Esc+Refresh then hold down the Power button.
