The most recent versions of the Android apps for YouTube and Netflix should cast to the Chromecast device, after you have used the Chromecast app to select your device. That would be Google's YouTube app, not any of the several others offered.

I am on iOS, installing and running Chromecast sent me directly to the App Store to update the apps from YouTube and Netflix.
