The reason is condensation.
When you bring a cold item to where it is warm the ambient air (which contains moisture) condenses on the cold surface and collects moisture. The moisture shorts out the electronics if they are energized when damp like that.
As long as the television and the room temp are the same then the chances of shorting out something are minimal.
LED and LCD are little affected by cold. Back in the day people were warned about PLASMA sets as there was a liquid in the screen that was affected by freezing temperatures. - 8ironExplorerThe cargo containers they are shipped in from overseas are not heated. Do what gives you the most price of mind. I leave mine in all season. I use the one in my ice fishing shack all winter (once it warms up).
- amandasgrammaExplorerWe have opposite opinion. Left a LCD clock in the RV one year....got to minus 20. It froze and half the clock couldn't be read. Was much easier to remove the tvs and put them in the house, than to buy a new one. A matter of opinion, I guess.
- RJsfishinExplorerJust leave it on !:B

- Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerHave never removed the TV during the winter in my last 5 trailers and have had no problems. I do not see dealers removing built in tvs from the thousands of trailers on their lots during the winter.
- Tom_M1ExplorerI live in Minneapolis and temps of -20F are common. For the past 6 winters I have winterized my house and turn the heat off. All my electronics have survived just fine including my 46" Samsung LCD.
- tenbearExplorerI have left my LED TV in the MH for the past 2 winters with no problems. As long as you don't turn it on when it is cold or bring it into the house and turning it on before it warms up you should be ok.
BTW, all LED TVs are LCD but LCD TVs are not necessarily LED. - tbredExplorer IIMinus 20's around here last winter, no problems with either of the led tv's. Linoleum floor did crack though :(
- K_CharlesExplorerWe could just pick up the T.V. and it comes off the wall, but we don't. The TVs stay in the TT. Just don't turn it on when it's freezing.
