Unless you are a member of a local ARES/RACES group don't waste your money on D-Star or Fusion radios and then pick which ever format they are using. One is not compatible the other. For mobile operations a duel band radio and a duel frequency antenna. Your not likely going to work DX on an FM mobile radio. There will nearly be a repeater you can hit.
