We aren't new kids on the block. Used hand signals for years. But if you've ever been in a tight spot you will know that sometimes it is much better for the spotter to be in a position not visible to the driver. A hand signal does little good then (except maybe as an indication of opinion!)
I do appreciate those of you who have responded seriously and will consider all suggestions carefully. Thanks.
