CR isn't truly unbiased at all. Read up on the Isuzu/Jeep/Suzuki lawsuits that dealt with flawed testing that benefited trial lawyers who pushed for results before the tests began. Tests on these vehicles were designed so the vehicles would fail and were not applied to any other vehicles.
Like any other rating entity, CR uses a rating scale that may or may not represent what is important to you. I gave up subscribing to CR when I finally decided that they and I would never agree on what automobile rating factors were important. IMHO with respect to high technology items like computers, etc, CR is out of its league. They should stick to toasters and blenders.
