Convertible Tablet (Chromebook,Android,iPad)

I'm in the market for a convertible tablet or in the case of the iPad, an iPad with a keyboard. What I'd like is a NICE screen about as big as my Macbook Air 11, and keyboard and trackpad about as good too. But detachable and touch screen.

This is for RV-ing. Portability and super light weight are not high priorities. Battery life is only medium priority.
Highest priority is screen quality, touchpad and touchscreen that work smoothly, browser user experience, ease of typing.
I'm agnostic about OSes. Meaning I'm willing to try Chrome or Android. I'd put Windows at the lowest on my list. I am okay with the cloud requirements of some options.

Budget, let's say up to $700.
  • I looked at a Surface 3 in the store today. Combined with the keyboard and maybe even the pencil, it would be just what I'm asking for. At least I think so....
    :)
  • I would handle the 360 flip model in person first. The ones I looked at make a pretty bulky & heavy tablet.

I read an in depth review of a 10" Android tablet. The reviewer mentioned that there are some glitches due to the OS and apps not really being ready for large screen tablets. I can't quote them off the top of my head, but if I find them again I will post the link.

    humm
strikes me as odd, because i have been using a 10" Xoom from Motorola for (4) years

and yes the flip is heavier than my Xoom
  • why are these better than the Dell 2 in one 10/11"? don't know if they have a touch pad, I always use a wireless track ball myself.
    bumpy
  • Better ? That's a personal choice
The Asus transformer is an Android tablet with detachable keyboard
So you can use it as a net book with keyboard or as a touch screen tablet

The chrome flip book, runs chrome OS, but has a touch screen and the keyboard flips completely back (convertible) to use it as a chrome touch tablet

What I want is an 11" convertible Android tablet/book
    Have not found it yet,
Will probably get one of the 10" Android hybrid with detachable keyboard

I'm not big on putting everything on the cloud
My Android tablet apps don't need the net cloud to work
Granted most of its use is for email and this forum
But if I want to print something, I don't need the internet and cloud
Like the current iterations of Chrome OS
Besides I like my android apps and games

the majority of the convertible models run windows 10 or windows 8.1

i have a 17" win8.1 laptop, that stays on my desk
my preference in tablet/hybeid/convertible is Android
