COPYING files from Android to PC.

I have a Samsung S8+ with Android 8.0.0.

I want to COPY (NOT Transfer) pictures from the phone to a PC.

It used to be as easy as access the phone folder and Copy & Paste to the PC folder, but not now.

HOW can I do it?

Thanks,

Tim

  • On my Android phone (version 7), when I plugged in the USB cable I got a notification about it. I had to open the notification to be able to set permissions.

    Ralph,

I figured it out and it is WAY easier than that. It IS still Copy & Paste, but you REALLY have to dig for the proper folder.

    Thanks,

Thanks Gordon, but MY Android version doesn't work that way.

  • It should still be that easy. When you plug into the PC, you should see a USB symbol on your phone, tapit and it's likely defaulted to "charge only" or some such. You can change it to "file transfer" ... your PC should re-detect the phone as either a removable USB or an MTP device

after this, it's drag and drop, cut and paste, whatever.
