I can assure you that there are many areas on highway 101 that don't have coverage, especially in my area. Also I n my area Highway 36,299,96,1,20,128,211 and 199.
Who is your service provider?
One thing I have found.. I have T-Mobile, T-Mobile has an agreement with AT&T at least for voice since both are GSM, I have parked in places where my T-mobile phone clearly says "AT&T" on it.
And in days gone past I was with AT&T analog as well as Omnipoint GSM (Omnipoint became Voicestreams became T-mobile) and I would see assorted networks on one or the other phone.
IF you have ____, even if ____ is Verizon, you may well have NO COVERAGE flashing on your phone while the person besice you who is with_ _ _ _ (different company) has 5 bars.
I know of one county which I will not name, where at one time one of the phone companies (Which I also will not name) (liability issues, would not wish to defend in a slander case) basically bribed the county commission (Political donations of course) so that ONLY THEY were allowed to put up towers in that county, NO other company could install there.
I suspect, that by now, lawyers have lawyered and fixed that but.. Well, such is many blood sucking parasites (Poly Ticks).
I will name one company in this regard.. Since many folks here may know I am not a fan of Verizon.... IT WAS NOT VERIZON. That leaves the other 3 to choose from.
