AT&T is the worse carrier by a large margin up here.
Verizon and U.S. Cellular are the carriers of choice.
If you go to buy a tracphone, you have the choice of AT&T or Verizon. The stores will tell you not to bother with AT&T unless you use it strictly in the larger towns.
AT&T does have towers along 101, but there are a lot of dead spots.
Verizon and U.S. Cellular have dead spots also, but is not nearly as bad as AT&T. If you go off of 101 very far, AT&T is useless.
