Cricket hotspot feature.

I kinda figured this would start popping up all over theplace since Gneral Motors starting adding the WIFI HOTSPOT to the vehicles...

ALot of folks already have this feature on their cell phones... I have the feature on my older DROID but when I turn it on nothing works and I get a NOTE MESSAGE from VERIZON WIRELESS that I DON'T have access for this service to work even though our grandfathered account includes unlimited data... Must be a money charge thing haha...

We are still using our grandfathered VERIZON MIFI plane which is a 3GB DATAPLAN for $27 a month. VERIZON is changing these type of plans starting this month I think I read by increasing the VERIZON PLAN cost hoping to weed out the grandfathered plans I guess...

It only works if you have access to a cricket system. Get outside the metro area, and good luck. Thats why most people go with one of the two major carriers.

Cricket was bought by AT&T a few years back and works anywhere their network works. I used my Cricket phone for internet at 10,000 ft this year, 20 miles from the nearest town. Before AT&T bought them I was lucky to get calls and text in the same area.

Heck of a deal.. if it actually works all over the US.

Have you tried using PDANet? It's what I use to turn on the hotspot on my phone with grandfathered unlimited data plan.

Yes. Not sure why you added the + at the end in the first place.

The plus is because it has PDANet and Foxfi. I have tried it and it works very well. Then I read the terms and conditions and would rather pay the $10 a month than lose the service.

I just looked at Crickets data plans and don't see anything for $10 a month other than a $10 per 1Gb for overage. There is a $50 plan with 5 gb and what they call an unlimited plan for $60 which the plan specs detail that over 10 gb the speed drops to 128kb/s.

The hotspot plan says that it uses the data from your corresponding phone plan with the data as I wrote above. Where is there a $10 for 10 Gb / month hotspot plan on Cricket?
