Cricket hotspot feature.

I was looking through the features page of the Cricket wireless site and found that in August they started allowing use of the hotspot features of some of their phones. It's $10 a month but it will allow the use of the 10g of data for more than net browsing and email. Additional gigs of data are $10 a gig.

You have to have a plan costing $50 or more and their 10g plan is $60 or $55 on autopay, $65 with the hotspot feature turned on.

  • Cricket was bought by AT&T a few years back and works anywhere their network works. I used my Cricket phone for internet at 10,000 ft this year, 20 miles from the nearest town. Before AT&T bought them I was lucky to get calls and text in the same area.
  • It only works if you have access to a cricket system. Get outside the metro area, and good luck. Thats why most people go with one of the two major carriers.

I kinda figured this would start popping up all over theplace since Gneral Motors starting adding the WIFI HOTSPOT to the vehicles...

ALot of folks already have this feature on their cell phones... I have the feature on my older DROID but when I turn it on nothing works and I get a NOTE MESSAGE from VERIZON WIRELESS that I DON'T have access for this service to work even though our grandfathered account includes unlimited data... Must be a money charge thing haha...

We are still using our grandfathered VERIZON MIFI plane which is a 3GB DATAPLAN for $27 a month. VERIZON is changing these type of plans starting this month I think I read by increasing the VERIZON PLAN cost hoping to weed out the grandfathered plans I guess...

    Always something changing...
