Delete 'BING'
Something keeps updating and using data allowance on this Wdws8 program - I think it might be "Bing' ... and I've deleted it a couple times but it keeps coming back. I'd like to uninstall it comple...

Yes, to the above - I should have said "Search engine" ...
It made itself my 'default' search engine and sometimes it came up as my home page. So, I uninstalled whatever I could find. A month or so went by, and now suddenly, a couple times, when I open my Firefox browser, BING comes up instead. Not sure if it's the home page BING, or the search engine - as I went back to my home page before I realized it - (GOOGLE is what I always use and is also my home page)
But I did uninstall BING once - at least I actually found several items in Control Panel that said BING - and uninstalled it.
And for those that comment on "go to the source" or 'google it" - I usually do that before I ask on RV.net ... but sometimes I can't figure it out even after that, so come here next. Trouble is, if what I read and apply doesn't work, I don't know if it's because I miss something, or am simply computer-stupid...
And, yes, can always get the "neighborhood kids" that know more than me at birth - and sometimes do, or the grand-kids. But, then I don't learn it for the next time.
Some have followed my turmoil with Windows8, which after six months playing with it, I still hate it. Tried to install a new Windows 7 OS over it - but Windows 8 would not let me (even when I followed RV.net assistance) But, we're home now, and next week we're going to the S-I-L, and he will install new HD or install the Windows 7 OS on this one - but, Windows 8 is gone out of my life for good pretty soon. Will make me one happy camper :) :) - despite what some think about that OS.
I do require my permission to download or update as best I know - but can never be sure myself if I have all shut off -- and yes, the tiles are all shut off as far as I know.
Maybe new install with only Windows 7 and not all the junk - will stop the over data usage too ... thanks for the answers here .. once again. :) BD
