Okay - for those guys that chimed in here ... as best I can tell.
The large data use was due to all these tiles and updates coming at once and updating as soon as the LT went online the first time.
So, I went into the uninstall mode, and dumped a whole bunch of items I'll never use, and also 'turned-off' a lot of 'maybe I'll use sometime' ...
I uninstalled Optimal Pro, and immediately gained back the speed it lost when that one 'snuck' itself in.
I've looked up almost every line in the programs package, and uninstalled or shut off few things that I didn't load, and things that look like a 'sales package' that came on the LT.
I'm guessing most of the usage was downloading things that are trying to sell me services, and constant updating of the tiles - which I will shut off all. So, that answers that question.
Since I did these operations, the LT is very, very fast and loads quickly, like it should. And, the programs that I installed and use operate as they should.
Not sure whether I like WDW8 more than WDW7, or even if it matters, but thanks to RV.net techs, I got all this figured out and set-up the way it should.
So, as much as practical, this thanks represents an individual thanks to all you tech guys here that helped.
I also made the updates - find and tell me, instead of auto-update. So, I can do those at a scheduled time.
The first two days, I used 2.2 GB, but since yesterday only .10 GB, so that means in thirty days at that level , my normal 3.0 or so will fit in a month - which is 5.0GB
So, packing the TC and this LT for a four month trip this weekend ... :) :)
