Why would a Dell computer have a Seagate hard drive in it..I did not put it there..!!!

Currently, I think you are right.
HP's used to come with HP drives, then the fired chairman of HP reduced the companies value by a couple order of magnitude (and sold off the the parts with the highest profit margins)
