We went with the Droid when it came out and was very disappointed. Went back to dumb phones for awhile. Now thinking about going back with a "dumb" smart phone and have been doing lots of research. After talking to many techs and users, NOT involved with selling phones, I have come to 2 conclusions. First is the apparently best on the market for a smart phone is an Apple I-Phone, but still has a steep learning curve and second, the best dumb phone for MS PC users is one with windows 8 phone OS. We are going back with smart phones next week and have decided on the Nokia 822 with the Windows 8 OS for us dummies. This is the one most techs recommended, as easy to learn and use, is rugged and an excellent buy today.
