I see a thread about androd and its apps. Im about to jump into the smart phone thing. So which phone? When I go shopping I ask the clerk what phone they have and a good many of them have the Samsu...

I would stick with the Android format (vs. Apple) and the Galaxy III is currently the leader in that market. However, the G IV will be out by Summer!
You're right; Samsung just announced the Galaxy 4. My DW and one daughter have the Galaxy 3 and love them. I think the only phone that can equal the Galaxies is Apple, all of which are uber-expensive. You can buy a Galaxy 3 right now for less than $100, and it will be a more than adequate phone for the next few years IMHO.
