Difficulty Finding Adaptor

I'm trying to attach a wired mouse to my iPad. I don't like Bluetooth mice because I've used them in the past and always had problems. My wired mouse has a USB-A plug and the iPad has a lightning port. I need a lightning (male) to USB=A (female) adaptor in order to accomplish this. All I can find are adaptors with USB (male). Walmart has dozens of adaptors, but they're all USB (male). I even checked online without success. Maybe they aren't manufactured for some reason. I would especially prefer lightning (male) to USB-A (female) with no wiring in-between, just a simple plug-in adaptor. In the meantime, I can continue using the track pad on the external Bluetooth keyboard, but a mouse would be preferable.

    This doesn't work? I do see it says 'camera.' Also, there's no such thing as a wired mouse with a lightning plug?

    Thanks for the research, 2oldman. What concerns me, as you pointed out, is that it's meant to attach a camera to an iPad. So, I can't be sure it will work with a mouse (maybe different internal wiring?)

    Thank you, Agesilaus. Looks promising. I especially like that two of the adaptors have no wiring, just plug directly to devices. I don't know any reason why it couldn't work with a mouse, but maybe worth a gamble. ;)

    That,s not quite it, but thanks for searching. I need lightning connector male to USB-A female. The ones on Amazon, noted above, seem correct. They’re meant for use with an iPhone, but may work with a wired mouse; not sure. Thanks

    Sorry, Ed, but you should stop looking. Even if you could find or create your own adapter, it would not work. IOS is not designed to use a wired mouse and the IOS software does not support it. Frankly, iPads are not designed for mice; they are touchscreen devices.

    Steve, I believe the 7th generation iPads now support mice, but I’ll check further. :)

    Yep, I just confirmed it online. The later generation iPads can now use a mouse!

    Yes it work.
    I've tried it but I'm so use to using a touch screen I gave up on it. I found it slow and awkward.

    Well, I’ve pretty much decided to go with a Bluetooth mouse after all. I found a good one on Amazon for less than $16. It’s a. Microsoft mouse (yes, that’s right). User reviews are mostly excellent. Thanks to all who added their suggestions on this thread.
