How true. :B
My mother had one on her home out in the outer suburbs. It worked fine (got all the local channels). We got her a High Def. TV back in 2005, and replaced it with a larger one in 2008. Both picked up all the digital and analog channels transmitted locally without problems.
My mother died in October of 2010. The antenna never survived a big snowstorm a few months later. :M
Also; they don't travel well, and do not fit under the trees in most state and national parks we camp in. :(
