I believe you need to maintain your current SL5 LNB unless you replace is with a SWM 5 (not 3) LNB but you would then need to remove the your current SWM8 setup. As long as the new SWM8 switch resolved your problem you should not need to make any further modifications. If you need to replace the LNB, replace it with the same non-SWM 5 LNB like you have now. The Winegard controller in the older SK-3005 uses the 110/119 LNB's to locate the satellites. There is no update path other than replacement with the SK-SWM3. It is an easy replacement should that be necessary as you leave the current mount on the roof, remove the old, install the new and hook the wires back up. You would also remove/bypass the SWM8 switch. Replace the controller inside and you are all done. No new wiring, drilling or caulk.
