Direct TV tries to bill me AFTER account canceled

If I didn't use credit card auto pay for my Time Warner internet I would have had to leave a deposit which they would refund by cheque. I have no way to handle a cheque. FInally had a friend deposit it but you should have heard their bank whine about taking a 3rd party cheque.
