Since AT&T took over DirecTV I have seen no good effects from the merger. I let a phone solicitor talk me into changing my phone and ISP from Charter to save $20/month. They never mentioned until after the work was done that the $20 reduction was only for the first year.
My upload speed went down to about 1 mb/s from 4 mb/s with Charter. My download went from avg 30 mb/s to avg 12mb/s.
Every time I called them I got answered by a person who had a great deal of trouble understanding me and was also hard for me to understand. I was on one 30 minute call to ask what happened to a mailer envelope that DirecTV was sending me to return an access card from a defective DVR. It was almost comical.
I lasted two weeks and am now, happily, back with Charter.
