Direct TV tries to bill me AFTER account canceled

I Canceled Direct TV on Nov. 20,2015. (Documented it with employee number, etc.) and even got a refund via debit card a week later.
Then, on Jan. 1, 2016 I got a charge on my credit card bill for the monthly amount. I immediately disputed the charge and sent in supporting documentation. Credit card company has now blocked Direct TV from any further billing.
This is just disgusting. Makes you wonder how many time Direct TV has billed other people who canceled their accounts and got away with it!

Has this happened to anyone else?

  • Did you contact DirectTV and inquire or just 'assume' they were attempting to rip you off.

    Computers do most billing/accounting------so if somebody didn't 'delete' info it will continue to puke out a bill.
  • Not Direct TV, but went through He!! canceling Hughes Net when still in that 30 day initial installation window, completely free garbage. We canceled and they billed. We turned in the equipment, and they charged us. It took over 6 months (of fighting them) to get our money back and I NEVER recommend Hughes Net for ANYONE! Bunch of buzzards!
