I recently changed my package and kept my long-standing DNS sans locals. I was not aware that locals are a mandatory part of any package - but legally you cannot have locals AND DNS at the same time. IF that's what you've been getting at home then they've violated their own rules, which is what they did with me for 2 years until I discovered it.
I think I'd be talking to someone higher up the food chain on this one. You've been messed with.
