Here's the thing.....DNS(having the east coast feed)made watching network shows a pleasure 3 hours early....lacking a DVR, which historically, they have always wanted $$$$ upfront besides the monthly expense.
My issue with Direct is that I was mislead(no, wait, I was LIED to), I was told I could revert back to my original programming package within a two week grace period......I cannot! The channels that were discussed as being removed, were done so immediately(Lifetime, Food Network ect ect...non essential channels to me) and then 1 week later my eastern feeds are gone.
It seems to me that its a feather in Direct's hat to eliminate Home DNS service for some because for each person that's removed, it puts local advertising money in their pocket. Im sure this is tracked!
Finally, its not like Im asking for something I haven't had, the Home DNS service is something that's been in our household since inception (16 years) yet this fact alone equates to a mere irritation to them.....
I know that I can register my RV receivers and use them inside the residence to gain exactly what I'm speaking of...but why should I have to?(let me repeat, I had DNS for 16 years). Lets face it, since DVR's have become so common place, having east coast feeds is not so important, you simply record the late night shows and watch them at your leisure. Yes, because of this ongoing issue, Direct has offered all sorts of incentives, even the Holy Grail, a DVR( in case its not evident, Im being sarcastic) yet they will not entertain giving me the programming back that included my DNS service, which they stated, I could!(even though, DNS should never have been in jeopardy or even in the playing field when talking about programming).
Let me also relate this, while Im upset with Direct over this, Im not jumping up and down, stomping my feet. In the scheme of things, its pretty minor and switching to Dish will probably be a the best thing that has happened(programming wise and equipment wise) but just the same, Ive been a Loyal customer of Direct TV, this Loyalty amounts to the stuff that sticks on your shoe in the dog walk area!!! :B lol
I appreciate all the comments...Thanks again!
