My video bridge sits right on top of my HR44. Never had any problems with this distance. There is a lot of info on the net for wiring up your equipment. It's not really complicated and I know you can do it. You will get good at aiming the dish with practice. If you use the setup menu on the HR44, using the zip code for dish alignment, you will get the dish setup info for your location. If you're really careful with the compass you can get real close to the correct satellite which is 101. Have fun.
