We are full-time RV-ers. At our winter vacation house in AZ I called and got an upgrade to Genie for only the 1/2 price install of $25. We are a long time customer. They don't offer an upgrade unless you ask. An installer came out and did the upgrade.
Got a Genie HD and a wired Mini for the kitchen.
The installer gave me a second dish receiver LNB unit and power supply for my RV. (Don't need the extra power supply as just use the one that powers the main Genie HD box) I did have to order a splitter SWM from Amazon since I wanted a second TV in the RV.
Now be advised you will need this SWM splitter even if you only have on TV. It powers the dish. The installer didn't give one of these. I could have taken the one from the house but just ordered it from Amazon. Amazon.com SWMM splitter
So when we hit the road already had a portable dish just changed out the LNB. It only takes one coax (not two as before) from the dish to the SWM splitter and then one coax to the main Genie HD receiver and another to the second small TV from the splitter I mounted in the basement so I could watch DirecTV outside. Works great.
I already have a Genie, wireless mini, SWM Slimline 3. Been using them on the road for some time now. What I want is the system described by Triker33, above. So, I guess that's my answer.
