I looked up how to rewire, just seems as easy as disconnecting the cable from the outside coax-in that is connected to the winegard socket and connect it to the power inverter and then from the power inverter to my receiver
Also what diameter pole is needed to mount the dish to?
If that's how the coach is wired then you are correct. All you would need to do is disconnect the "cable" coax from the back side of the wall plate. If you think you might ever want cable you can connect that cable to an A/B switch (not a splitter) and run one coax back to the port you just disconnected from and the other port to the satellite receiver. Doing so would allow you to select either input with the push of a button.
HOWEVER, some coaches are not wired exactly that way. If there is a splitter in the system anywhere between the outside connection and the Winegard power supply (wall plate with power button) then you will not be able to use this connection at all.
If you do have a direct line it should work just fine whether you use a standard antenna, dome or SWM. You just need the dedicated run to the receiver.
