DirecTv . . Switching from SD to HD

I could be wrong here but I believe the slim line needs a power inserter also. Where the old ones received power from the control unit, the new ones have a separate power module. Another thing with the HD over the standard is that everything takes twice the unit's capability, what I mean here is if you could record three shows and view another at the same time, HD will cut that in half. They are not giving tripods away anymore. I saved mine from the old direct I had back when. I see a lot of people now using a pole mount stuck into a bucket of cement or hooked up somehow, building a pole mount system without the tripod. I liked the HD, wish I could have done more than two shows at a time though, I really hate the way everybody looks squished some while viewing standard mode on a HD tv.
