While the spot beam maps are fun to look at, with DISH your current ZIP code determines what TV locals you receive.
My receiver thinks my zip code is 00000. I am watching local TV without calling and giving my location beforehand. I am at 78570 per the Post Office.
Good luck with that.
For the rest of you DISH users, just call DISH and give them your current campground address (& ZIP code) to reset your local TV channels.
I am not wanting snarky 'good luck with that' type comments. I am seeking info and trying to understand what is the truth. All I am doing is telling what I see. Are you saying I did not see what I said?
I said I did NOT call Dish after arriving in 78570 and yet I get Harlingen news. Explain that.
You say that is impossible. Honestly, I don't recall watching news while in Zapata, so I cannot say who is right on whether I might have had Harlingen news while in Zapata. All I have said is I will know more when I move to Corpus.
As things stand now, it will be two weeks before I will be in Corpus Christi. I will be happy to report back what happens. I have no vested interest either way. You may be correct, but who are you? There are many people who post here, but I have no way to know who is right or wrong. I am sorry if my questions bother you.
Anyone;
Do I need to call while travelling to a location without phone service? After all, when I get there, it is impossible to call.
By 'the rest of Dish users' are you including or excluding VIP211k/Tailgater Pay-as-you-go users? Or, are you saying everyone that is not me?
HTH;
John
