Dish Network and local channels

I recently dumped DirecTV (after over ten years as a customer) and we're taking our first trip without satellite TV. We're currently in a favorite campground that has 12 channels of fuzzy SD cable and no stations over the air. We find the one thing that we miss is network news.

I would get a dish "pay as you go" system if I new I could switch locations as I travel in order to receive the local NBC, CBS and/or ABC affiliates.

I spoke with a neighbor in a fifth wheel a few stops back who said he did exactly that and it was a fairly simple process. Does he know a secret, or is it actually that easy?

    What others have said . . . you want DISH to change your Service Address to where you're currently camped.

    DISH may think you're moving to a new house, but just tell them you're in an RV. That should do it.

    Once in a while people will report that they've had trouble with this. It usually turns out that a rep is either following his "script" too closely or that a rep simply does not know what they're talking about. If this ever happens, just ask for their supervisor.

    Not mentioned above, but when you go on-line at mydish.com, scroll down to the bottom and click on "contact us" and a new page will come up for either "service" or "support". You can click on either "chat now" and you will be connected with someone who can change your "service address". Be sure to have your acct number handy.

    Or as mentioned, you can also call their 800 number, but you'll have to go through a bunch of "if you need xxxx push !" and so on and so on. Kinda a pain in the butt.

    I have Dish and you can go on line to change locals or call the 800 number and they will change them every time you move.
