Don't rule out how the OTA NATL TV NETWORK works these days since they changed over to digital TV. We always are able to get several TV stations just using our OTA BAT WING crankup antenna... This is all free to the public...
We always like to be able to get a live radar station when we get parked to watch the weather real close with our setup...
We use to bring along a spare SAT TV dish with a two output head on it and run a RG cable to a SAT RCVR in the living room and a second RG Cable to the SAT RCVR in the bedroom and use the VIDEO OUTPUT ports to tie into the TV sets. Then we select CABLE-OTA-SAT TV from the remotes in both locations... OF course the OTA OPS requires you to push the small button on the ANTENNA PANEL to work the OTA BATWIG antenna.
If you haven't tried your OTA HDTV BATWING antenna setup give it try - I think you will be amazed how it looks now compared back in the old analog TV days...
Since the change-over we don't bring out our DirecTV account SAT TV items anymore...
