We've had this service since we had a Trav'ler installed on our fifth wheel. We like this option. We were able to select what range of channels we wanted. As long as we don't call in, we've got service, well, as long as there is no interruption. What I mean by that is that if we don't watch TV for a little over a week, then we have to call in and resend the signal to the receiver. At the end of our traveling season, we call in and place the service on hold. I think there's a $5 a month charge for this, can't remember. This hold is for 6 months only and at six months it comes back on or we call in earlier. No restart fee, just the hold fee I mentioned and the regular monthly fee.
You don't have to pay the $5/month fee if you just "disconnect" the service (rather than put it on hold) when you're not going to use it for awhile and then "reconnect" it when you're ready to use it again. When you "disconnect", any $$ left will be held as a credit on your account and when you reconnect, you will just have to pay the balance for the next 30 days. I have actually "disconnected" for a week and then reconnected it for a weekend and was only charged a few $$ and then I disconnected it after the weekend. I think the credits have a time limit of some sort, maybe 6 months, but I'm not sure. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIThat is the typical experience with the Dish PAYG service.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIII activated my Dish Pay-As-You-Go subscription through Dishformyrv.com. All I do to stop the service is not pay the next month's bill. To restart, I just sign into my online Dish account and select which plan I want for the next month and which CC to charge it to.

- JimM68ExplorerI've never had any luck excersizing "pay as you go".
My pay as you go service always starts and stops on the same day of the month. it never actually ends. if I expire on 7 july, and renew on 6 sept, my 64.99 goes for 1 and only one day of service.
I recently gave up. went from comcast cable to dish at the S&B, waited a month, discontinued the service at the RV, and then talked them into adding my RV's vip211k as another reciever on the S&B account for a cost of $7. This took some discussion, including the fact the I hooked it to the second output of the home dish, it was installed, and working just fine, so please give me no******about it "not being compatible with the hopper"....
Yup, took quite some discussion, and a number of calls, but is currently up and running. (unless it rains) - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIThere is no such thing as home or RV service, just the service itself is used where you have the receiver. If you have Dish service in your home you just take the receiver from your house and put it in the RV. Now you have RV service!
If you had multiple receivers at home but only wanted to take one in the RV then you can suspend the service on the unused receivers and reactivate them when you return home. - billyboyExplorercan you suspend the service at home while your away but still have the service while on the road
- lfeatherExplorerWe use it and like it. Can get local channels anywhere you go by calling and giving them your current location address. After about 18 month's learning curve for me and Dish techs, the on/off process is getting smoother.
- Cajun_BillExplorerBeen having it for over a year and love it. If you combine it with the Tailgator, you've got a win/win for sure.
- AllegroDNomadI got 15 pages by searching for "pay as you go".
I have been answering this question over and over. If you look, the answer is there.
Thank you to 1492 for doing the searches.
