Dish or Direct TV?

1st off I know this subjective! I currently have no service at my home, I know nothing about the types of service. I have 2 TV's in my 5er so I also need to know about the best equipment to purchase??
Thanks for the information!

  • If I can get one or two channels from a local over the air source I would rather use that for free get my local weather and hopefully some football games in season, and otherwise do my viewing with a awning/window facing the sunset.
There are too many movies and even tv programs available from Amazon prime or netflix to want to mess with a satellite dish when travelling.
  • I have had both and directv has In my opinion the best receivers. I switched from dirt to dish because of the cost, well you get what you pay for. dish is so slow I have to push the buttons 6 or 7 times to get things to change or come up on the tv. I have called and all they want to do is have you reset, which is a lot of bull. no sooner do you hang up with them the receivers are WWll vintage, I can't wait for my contract to be up with dish.
  • You are going to find that there are those who love Dish and hate Direct. And those who love Direct and hate Dish. Mostly from past experience. Flip a coin.
We have had Dish both at home and the RV for many years and very happy with it.
  • Please do yourself a BIG favor. Read. Start using the search function searching on this subject. You will find literally hundreds of pages debating the differences.
