  • Cool I guess... would be nice for DISH to turn on the Ethernet port on the Joey, so I could use Cat 5e cable instead of RG6 to connect it to the Hopper. Sure RG6 has 3 gigabits of bandwidth compared to 1 gigabit on the 5e, but I really doubt the Hopper pushes that much data.

    Once you've experienced the joy of having the Hopper automatically "hop" past the commercials in recorded prime time programming, you don't mind the names so much... :B

  • Yep, did not take them long to catch up with the wireless Genie from DirecTV. This should be a real blessing for anyone installing Genies and Hoppers in RV's! The only problem is that Dish specifically states that they do not recommend a Hopper in an RV and they will not support a Hopper in an RV. Guess they don't want that 2TB hard drive to crash!
