DW and I have a Dish TailGater, as we don't go camping nearly enough, when we do, I have to call Dish and get the receiver reauthorized. This is a very long and drown out process, I know the Dish call center people are going by a script and don't find fault with them, but what a process get the receiver back on.Has any one out there finding a better way to do this.Johnnie

With Directv you can do this online, in seconds. Check your Dish account for this.If Dish has this available, I'm surprised they don't 'suggest' you do that instead.

I can't remember if its 15 days or 30 with no use it does this. We have the same setup and after about twice I said no more. The camper stays in my shop so I just put the unit outside and keep it hooked up. I have a hard drive hooked to ours so it has DVR capacity. I just set it to record a weekly 30 minute show and have never had a problem again.

I have complained/recommended that Dish have a way to reauthorize receivers on line, like you can do with XM radio, but they have not done this, if direct can do it then Dish should do it.Johnnie

If left off for something in excess of a month, it loses its "authorization". I typically run into the same problem a time or two each year. Although it generally only takes me about a 2-3 minute phone call to get it reauthorized. But another 15 minutes for the 211k/tailgater to cycle thru its power up procedure again.I have not tried the on line support, but have heard it works well also. You can go to a chat page on the mydish.com/support web site and request technical help via the chat window at the bottom of the page.
