Dish Tail Gater for ever REAUTHORIZING

DW and I have a Dish TailGater, as we don't go camping nearly enough, when we do, I have to call Dish and get the receiver reauthorized. This is a very long and drown out process, I know the Dish call center people are going by a script and don't find fault with them, but what a process get the receiver back on.

Has any one out there finding a better way to do this.

  • I can't remember if its 15 days or 30 with no use it does this. We have the same setup and after about twice I said no more. The camper stays in my shop so I just put the unit outside and keep it hooked up. I have a hard drive hooked to ours so it has DVR capacity. I just set it to record a weekly 30 minute show and have never had a problem again.

    Yes. With Directv you can do this online, in seconds. Check your Dish account for this.

    If Dish has this available, I'm surprised they don't 'suggest' you do that instead.
