I had the same problems as lj2654 and did the same with King Controls. I also had a bad motor. Shipped it back to King Control on my dime ($90), they made the repairs under warrantee (I was just over the 1 year mark), and they shipped it back. The Tailgater still didn't work. Call King Controls and they told me that they triple check their work and that it worked before they shipped it back to me. They told me to ship it back to them and they would recheck it. I told them that I was not going to spend another $100 to send it back. They emailed me a shipping label to send it back on their dime. I told them that I was very disappointed because I had only used the Tailgater twice during the 1st year I had it and had spent $400 to purchase it and now I was not going to be able to use it this RV season because it was being shipped back and forth across the country for months now. They told me that they would send me a unit to replace my unit.
Since I received the replacement unit I have not had any problems...but I have not been RVing yet (life got in the way). But what I did was hook it up to my TV in the basement to make sure that it works. It works great, and it has been up and running for about 4 months. I am pleased with the unit now.
