Dish to Direct with a Traveler
I have a Winegard Traveler 1000, and Dish network. I would like to switch to Direct TV. Can my Traveler be changed over? Or would I need a entirely new setup?

A Dish receiver CAN be converted to DirecTV but it CANNOT be converted to receive DirecTV HD programming. It could only be used with the old small DTV antenna that received 101, 110 and 119.
Huntingdog, that is correct. You can convert a DTV Trav'ler to Dish but you cannot convert a Dish Trav'ler to DirecTV HD. The main problem is that a small motor is used in the Dish Trav'ler to lift the smaller, lighter antenna/LNB and this motor is not strong enough to lift the heavier DirecTV setup.
