Dish TV recever

I'm a full time RVer I currently have a VIP722 Dish TV receiver and really like it. I had a Travler on my RV I traded and liked it. My only problem with the Travler was the price, trees and when I went back east and needed to be on the eastern satellites. I'm thinking of going to 2 VIP 211Z with the MT2 OTA box, and using a hard drive so it will be a DVR. I may use a Carryout Anser so I can get east and west satellites. My question is can I use 1 hard drive for both VIP 211Z or would I need to use 2 hard drives?

  • I only need the eastern ark for the Springfield Mo. locals, all the cities around Springfield Mo. the locals are on the western. I did find a Winegard GM 1518 carryout. This will work on my 722 and also do all the Dish satellites. My concern is the 1518 was discontinued a few years ago, there must have been a reason why. I don't want to buy a dish that may not work correctly.
  • We've camped as far east as Springfield ma, and have not needed to use the Eastern Arc sat. for dish. Right now we just use the King Dome and 211 rcvr. In the spring I'm installing the Travller antenna and using the Hopper for inside, and a wireless Joey for the outside TV. We'll also still carry the 211 and the tailgater for when trees are an issue and just turn it on and off as needed.
  • I have a WD 1T hard drive that I use to back up my movies on my 722 now. I have used this for about 3 or 4 years. I'm hoping to use this one, I wasn't sure if you could use 1 for both 211Z.
  • X-2 2 Hard Drives plus the hard drives will only work with the receiver where the programming was recorded from. They are not interchangeable.
