Dish VIP211Z

Question

Almost 2 years old and just died.  Wondering if others have had the same experience.  I will admit it has been used a lot and has been subjected to extreme temps,dust and rough roads. Thinking next time I should get a 3 year service policy.

Get a Wally instead.  Its everything the Z is plus its newer and smaller.  Best of all its RF remote not IR.  Means if you back feed to another TV you can use the remote in another room.  I'm also hearing for those that have it that it boots faster and has better menus.

Will get another receiver.  Is the Wally every bodies favorite now to use with the Tailgater?

Mine died last week after 2 years of service, just after I bought the Dish DVR Extender and hooked it up.  Dish had to replace it.

It is not unusual for any kind of electronics to die due to heat (vibration doesn't help either) so taking step to ensure your receiver has good ventilation is very important.
