Distant Networks for Part Timer

We have a Dish Network account at our S/B house. We currently have two receivers on the same account in our RV parked in the driveway. As you all know, you can no longer pay for Distant Networks from All-American Direct. We currently can no longer get the traditional networks on satellite while traveling. I understand how to get "locals" at different locations if you have a pay as you go RV account by calling in to change your "service address" keeping your billing address the same. Question is: Can I simply do this with our regular Dish account? I don't want to get a separate pay as you go RV account since we use the RV at home as extra living space and want the TVs to work there all the time as well as in the house. Cost would be prohibitive. Can any of you tell me how you accomplish this?
  • As long as you don't need TV service on the home receivers while you are on the road, just call Dish and have them change your service address (or even better, use Dish Chat) not your billing address. This will change the service OF ALL RECEIVERS to your new location killing all Network service to your home receivers but getting you what you need in the RV. If you travel for an extended period you can even suspend service on the home receivers while you travel to save the $7/month charge and then suspend the RV receivers when you return home.
  • Yup, same here. When we are in a spot just overnight we don't bother, but when we are sitting for a week or more we call Dish and change our service address.
  • No problem> We use our VP722 in the RV. as we travel we periodically contact Dish to have them update the local channels to where we are at the time. Just did it last night. When we get home, we have the service location set to our home address. We also have a VP622 which we operate also. so using the second receiver at your home location is no problem. I do not have a separate account for my RV. When we travel, Our RV is our home.
