I used Dish Western Sat service before they had Eastern Sat service and never had any trouble in the lower 48. We were on the road full time then. I would, however, have to place the dish in the open sometimes 100 feet or so from the RV, in order to receive the signal. As someone said the Eastern Arc is at a higher angle above the horizon, therefore better in a "many tree" environment.
