As others have said... It depends on your settings. I have multiple monitors plugged into my laptop so the lid is always "almost closed". When the cat walks on it and closes it all of my encrypted work sessions go away and if I am on my google voice phone it drops because my wifi turns off.
But thanks for asking this question. I just changed my power settings so when it is plugged in and the lid closes nothing happens. Dave 1 - Cat 0 (this time).
