Does Direct TV have a mobile dish?

Here is the deal....I have a B+ Leisure Travel Van, a mountain home in Colorado, and a home base residence in West Texas where I only get over the air free TV. With all the new technology does Dish or Direct TV offer any plans that I might could use in all three places....and is it affordable and how well would it work? At RV parks I've seen some sit beside dishes which seem to be Dish....and am wondering if Direct TV also has something? My dream? That somebody would offer a plan where by I could get satelite TV and possibly Internet at home, at my cabin, and in my RV when I am traveling? What do you think? Is this possible? I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on my dream!

  • Thanks to all that replied! You've given me a lot of good information and I'm thinking it is now time to call Direct TV and get it straight from the horses mouth! Many thanks all!! Snoop

If you do as suggested above then you will be guilty of "theft of services ". In reality you should pay for two home systems and and carry one in the RV.

Sorry you are wrong. I have been doing this for years with the assistance of Directv. They helped me with the setup of all three. They even came out to my house in Florida many years ago and set up the dish.

Taking your receivers is exactly what they offer.

How so? Your taking your service (receiver) with you. You are not stealing anything. You are simply using your equipment in a different location

Both Directv and Dish will work. Just get fixed dishes on in Colorado and West Texas and a Winegard Traveler dish for your van. Take your home receivers with you as you travel to each location. Simple and easy. You can also set up separate services in Texas and Colorado and suspend the service(s) for up to 6 months at each location.
  • You would order sat for your home. Once it is installed and working, you hire a local contractor in CO to instal a dish and run the wires to where you will set the sat receiver. This will cost you around 300 dollars one time charge. As for the MH from the same installer you hire for your CO property you buy a dish/tripod setup. If your not able to do it yourself hire them to setup your RV too. When you move from TX, you grab the equipment put it in your MH and go. When you get to CO take it inside and plug it in. If you really want local channels, give the sat supplier a call and temporairly change your service address.
Depending on your wants service could be as low as 75 and as high as 300 dollars a month.
If you go with Dish a portable dome could double for the MH and CO property.
