best to have couple of different emails. way back when, I set up a yahoo.com account specifically for software and forum registrations. Main reason is that I didn't want all the spam that generates from those registrations hitting my main account. It still gets over 100 spam messages a day.
I then set up a special account on another more private service for money matters like banking, online purchases, etc. It is the one I tied to paypal and ebay.
Then, of course, I have my work address.
