downloading photos on Facebook?

I'm not a Facebook member, nor do i wish to join. A family member sent photos on Facebook to my phone , but it appears I can't download them into the picture gallery on my phone (android). The question is: do I need to be a Facebook member in order to accomplish this?

Tap on the picture in FB. It should display all by itself with a black border. Tap in the upper right hand corner on the 3 little dots. You should see a pop-up menu with the top item saying "save to phone"

At least that's how I do it but I am a member of FB.

Touching the photo does nothing at all. Remember, I'm seeing the photo on my phone, but I'm not actually on the Facebook website, so I guess I may have to join Facebook, using an alias, since I don't really wish to be a part of that social site. I may just try that. Thanks.

Like someone said. What you see is a "Preview" tap on the photo and you should get the full photo then choose "Save to Phone" from the drop down menu.

On my conputer that's a Right click and save image.

Do it often but I'm a member.

What did they use to send them to you? Email, Messenger, or something else?

I'm not sure. part of the message that came with the photos reads https://facebook.com/photo.php?fbid, and then a bunch of numbers. I don't know if they mean anything, but touching that message brings up the photos. Touching the photos themselves does nothing.
  • I don't know. Is there a message saying why this can't be done?
