Droid Update

The learning curve is minimal. Most things will work the same with a slight look and feel difference.

When I updated mine, I didn't notice any real changes. I'm sure there were some in the back ground, but nothing new that I had to learn.

Given the discovery of the 'stage fright' exploit it would be good to upgrade. Try to do it on free wifi if you can, as it is about 300 megs. It will take quite some time.

The only issue I have had is the wifi turns on all the time and connects to any open wifi network. If I disable it in the settings it just turns back on. I went to the Samsung store in my local BestBuy and they did a hard reset of the phone which they said would solve the issue. After the reset was complete, while I was standing there talking to the guy, the wifi turned on and conmnected to BestBuys network. I have still not been able to come up with a solution to this problem.

Thanks folks, I'll go ahead with the update as soon as we get somewhere that I can get a good solid Wi-Fi connection.

Just updated to 5.0.1 today.

Always good to stay current with software releases. I take them as soon as they become available (have for years) and have never had a problem. Some are large so be on a solid WiFi when you do it. Also, plan on a 20-30 minutes for it to complete (typically under 10 minutes with good wifi).

Yep, mine is updated to 5.1 and I really did not notice any difference when it updated. I did just have the sim card go bad and Verizon replaced it and left me with the distinct impression that this is a common problem with the Turbo model.
