DTV beeps are back! UPDATE: No update YES
Today when aiming my dish I got some very fast loud beeping from the older HD receiver when I got the signal! Wow.. anybody else get that?

It would be nice to dispense with my Swift Hitch camera technique of viewing the screen from outside, but it sure has worked well. And you're right, nothing beats that signal meter (the horizontal bars, not the individual xponder screen).
Yay! I hope it stays.- It's been almost 3 years since we switched to Dish as we routinely switch services every few years, the Directv HD receiver we had then had the beeping tone although I can't remember the model number off hand.
I have heard that Directv did not have this feature on some receivers, thankfully the Dish VIP receivers have this feature as it is the only thing I use besides a basic compass to point our HD sat antenna while RVing.
