DVD-Home theater

I'm not sure, but I believe technology has completely passed me by. Our last two RV's had a single component that played DVD's or CD's and distributed the sound to 5 speakers. When we got this current RV a few weeks ago it came with only the installed speakers for the home theater system. That's not the issue; I know how to find out which wires go to which speaker. What I'm trying to find, without any success, is the system component that plays the DVD/BlueRay/CD and displays it on the TV while distributing the sound to the speakers. All I've been able to find so far are home theater systems that distribute the sound but require a separate DVD player, OR DVD players that connect to the TV but don't have the capability of connecting to the speakers. In the past I've bought a replacement Sony system at Best Buy, but I can't find anything similar now. Am I missing something in the terminology or is what I'm looking for no longer made?
  • Probably phased out in favor of all in one sound bars and smart TVs. Your terminology sounds right to me.

eBay has what you're after, lots of options under $200
  • The times they are a changing...and it won’t stop or even slow down.
  • Thanks to all. As I feared, technology sped right past while I was in "park". Hopefully I can find something like has been suggested that has either HDMI or Component connections. The search begins!
  • I'm relatively competent with this stuff, but getting the POS so called entertainment system to play nice with a smart TV just about took me down with it. Finally gave up, installed a 2.1 sound system in the trailer, and marginally satisfied.

No, not directly to the speakers, but directly to an amplifier.
