DVR?????
If I record shows on my DVR at home ,can I unplug it and take it in the motorhome and watch the recorded shows there??

- Yup, we take out DVR and our auxiliary hard drive with us every winter. A bit of a PIA to reprogram the OTA shows for the new station line-up, but no big deal.

Do you own the DVR? If so, certainly
Does your provider own the DVR? Then it depends on how your provider has programed it.

looks like my answer worked just fine its not that technical- One issue we found, we use an external hard drive for a dvr connected to the receiver via usb cable. In our case, each receiver demands that the hard drive be reformatted to work with just that receiver. Even two identical receivers. So we purchased a second hard drive and use it strictly with the TT receiver and it stays powered up and recordings set. We check the guide and set up movies a week at a time to record as well. We've got about 30 movies on the dvr along with the 400 dvd's stored in a cd case in the tt.
- If your DVR is a Sat-Receiver/DVR and you do not have a Sat antenna, it might take it a long time to allow you access to the recorded shows when first turned on.. (read the manual for instructions)
But... I use dual DVR's in this RV, no problem. - We have two Hopper DVRs and we move one hard drive between the Hopper in the house and the Hopper in the RV with no issues.

This behavior is required by digital rights management rules (copyright law). Since digital copies are exactly like the the original if you were permitted to use the hard drive with another device you would have making an unauthorized copy of a program or movie.
